Parents be advised: over 1 million baby sling carriers have been recalled today less than 2 weeks after the Consumer Product Safety Commission issued a warning about these sling-style carriers. According to the CPSC, 14 infant deaths have been associated with these sling-style carriers.
The models being recalled: the "Slingrider" or "Wendy Bellissimo" from Infantino. The CPSC says these type of slings can pose a suffocation risk. The commission is advising parents and caregivers to stop using the recalled slings immediately and contact Infantinio to receive a free replacement product.The report said that many of the babies who died in slings were low-birth-weight twin, were born prematurely or had a cold.
